Bionics can be thought of as an exclusive set of skills or a skill
system. For a certain amount of gold and some psi, you can have parts of your
body replaced by cybernetic implants. Bionics can offer some interesting
benefits, but can also cost a hefty sum. To find out which bionics you
have, simply type <bionics> at the prompt. The character class BORGS begin
the game with the first six implants. The character class MERCENARY start
with the first two bionics. STALKERS begin the game with one bionic that is
unique to their class.
Some bionics add armor, some add damroll, and some add regen. However,
most are expensive, and most will reduce your natural psi. This is
because your ability to use psionics is tied to your humanity, and you
will lose this ability as more of your body is transfored into cold,
lifeless steel. Some implants are prerequisites for others, so read the
help file on each bionic implant before attempting to purchase it. To buy
bionics, you'll have to find the bionics shop and purchase the implant
from the shopkeeper.
From Recall the bionics shop is located e, u, w, u, u, s, s, s, e, n.
At level 25 you may now upgrade some bionics to ADVANCED technology.
Find the abandoned warehouse in town to upgrade certain bionics.
